Volunteers Needed: Help Us Renovate the New Property

07-17-2023 8:00 am - 07-18-2023 5:00 pm
Volunteers Needed: Help Us Renovate the New Property

As many of you already know, last summer, Bears Ears Partnership purchased the old motel property next door to the Bears Ears Education Center. Purchasing and renovating this property is big step forward in expanding the BEEC’s outdoor space, all to support our growing education and community programming.

To make this renovation happen, there is a lot of work to do - and we need your help. On July 17th and 18th, BEP Board Member Vaughn Hadenfeldt will be leading a group of volunteers to clean up the property, and prepare it for new gravel to be laid.

If you’re interested in volunteering your time to help with these beginning stages of the renovation, please contact BEP Volunteer Manager, Ricky Begaye (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for more information.

Jim Nowak on "The Mountains of Nepal to NonProfits"

09-09-2023 6:00 pm

How a little bit of climbing in Nepal led to 25 yeas of non - profit work.

Since 1998, Jim's leadership has taken the dZi Foundation from a grassroots organization initially formed to fund a safehouse for girls in Kathmandu to a thriving nonprofit that serves over 44,000 individuals in Nepal. For the last twenty five years, Jim has led dZi’s fundraising and managed staff in the Ridgeway office. dZi's growth is a direct result of his knowledge, passion, and compassion for the communities that dZi serves. Jim resides in Ridgway, CO, and is building a home in Bluff.
