BEEC Exhibit: Ute Mountain Ute Perspectives on Conserving the Dolores River Canyons

The Bears Ears Education Center is honored to display the exhibit “Ute Mountain Ute Perspectives on Conserving the Dolores River Canyons” for the month of August, in partnership with Dolores River Boating Advocates and Ute Mountain Ute artists. 

The exhibit will be available for viewing August 6-31. The Bears Ears Education Center is open Thursday–Monday, 9am-4pm, and is located at 567 W. Main St, Bluff, UT 84512.

Learn more at this presentation with Diné artist and cultural preservationist Venaya Yazzie on Friday, September 4 at 7pm. The program will take you on a journey of southwest Native people's adornment practices through history to the present. As Venaya says, “You'll leave shining like bright turquoise!”

Join us Friday, September 25 at 6pm to hear her share about this new work, and get a copy signed by the author.

Our Indigenous Artist Market is back for the fall season! Save the date for Saturday, September 26 at 10am-3:30pm at the Bears Ears Education Center.

Indigenous makers from across the Bears Ears region will be selling their art in the courtyard. Support local and regional artists and enjoy a variety of arts styles including painting, printmaking, jewelry and more. The Education Center is located at 567 W Main Street (HWY 191) in Bluff, Utah.
