Bears Ears Partnership leads on-the-ground site conservation, education, stewardship and research programs to protect and build respect for the greater Bears Ears cultural landscape.
The Land Can't Wait

place-based education
Our Education Program nurtures place-based education and lifelong learning through classroom visits, teacher workshops, field trips, summer camps, dark sky programming and more. The Bears Ears Education Center is the only visitor center in the region, equipping visitors with resources on how to visit the greater Bears Ears region with respect, and hosts free community events to participants of all ages.
conservation & Stewardship
Our Conservation Programs enrich the living connection to the land while mitigating potential impacts of visitation. Canyon Country Youth Corps crews implement on-the-ground projects to steward the cultural and natural landscape of the greater Bears Ears region, aiming to improve watershed health, mitigate invasive species, build and maintain trails, and restore habitats.

Bears Ears Summer Camp - Session 2
Hey, families of the Four Corners region! Is your student going into grades 7 through 12 next year? Do they love the outdoors? They're invited to join Bears Ears Partnership for a free three-day, two-night trip on the upper San Juan River! Session 2 takes place June 28-30.
Participants will enjoy tasty meals, go for guided nature walks or hikes, learn about the many moving parts of our river's ecosystem, hear about the human history of the region, and experience camping under the dark skies that our region is famous for.
To be eligible for participation, registrants must be going into grades 7-12 for the 2026-2027 school year, complete all required paperwork, and attend a scheduled virtual orientation before the trip.
The trip is offered free for students in the Four Corners region, and Indigenous youth. Please register for only one session, to provide an opportunity for others. Link to Session 1 (June 19-21).
To register, fill out the following paperwork by June 19, and attend the Virtual Orientation on June 22 (more information coming soon).
