As you may be aware, what is known as the Babylon Fire is now the largest active fire in the nation at over 100,000 acres, and has been burning in Bears Ears National Monument since it was first reported on June 26th. We are closely monitoring this developing situation as we think of our many partners and community members across the region who are impacted. Our staff has been busy prepping for a potential "Go Now" evacuation order, safely relocating crews, equipment and irreplaceable items from our Monticello Campus at the Canyon Country Discovery Center.

Please be safe, and follow closure notices for public lands in the region. BEP sends our well wishes to all of the firefighters and community servants who are working hard to protect the landscape and communities.
