This 44-mile route is best as a long day or multi-day ride. If using a vehicle, 4WD high clearance is necessary. There are no facilities or water along Lockhart Basin Road.

As a 4WD road, this is a very challenging drive. Please stay on designated routes and avoid building cairns. Be prepared to bring water and food and pack out trash.
