Alfred Lomaquahu

Alfred Lomaquahu was born and raised on the Hopi Reservation. After graduating high school in Riverside, California, Mr. Lomaquahu spent 8 years in the marines as an Engineer. After his discharge, he worked construction, became an artist carving Hopi Katsina figurines, was elected and served as Governor for the village of Bacavi for two terms, was elected and served as Vice Chairman for the Hopi Tribe, and helped to create the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition and initiate Bears Ears National Monument. Mr. Lomaquahu currently works as a program coordinator for the Red Feather Development Group nonprofit and consults for United States Government agencies and Tribes across the country, focusing on government-to-government consultations.
