Paw-N-Teer Day: June 1
If you have a dog companion, Paw-N-Teer Day is a great opportunity to learn more about how to hike respectfully with your furry friend in and around Bears Ears National Monument.
Bears Ears Partnership is hosting Paw-N-Teer Days every other Saturday: June 1, June 15, June 29, July 13.
Meet at the BEEC at 8:30am, and the hike will get started around 9am. Volunteer Manager Ricky Begaye will lead a guided hike, going over the Visit With Respect guidelines to make sure furry friends and their companions respect ancestral landscapes. By the end of the day, you will receive a BARK Ranger certification signed off by BEP Staff.
Please kind in mind: in areas where pets are allowed, they should be leashed and kept on established trails, and away from cultural resources, such as rock imagery and structures. Any waste must be packed out. Pets are not permitted in: Grand Gulch and its tributaries, Slickhorn Canyon, Point Lookout Canyon and its tributaries, or McLoyd Canyon/Moon House Ruin Recreation Management Zone.
Please only bring well-behaved dogs, and be sure to register through our website.
We'll cap this event at 10 attendees, so reserve your spot today!
BEP will host these Paw-N-Teer days at different locations. If you have a location suggestion or would like to collaborate, contact Ricky at
