Celebrate National Public Lands Day by volunteering with Bears Ears Partnership on Saturday, September 28.

BEP will be hosting several stewardship projects in different locations, and volunteers can swap projects during the day. Projects go 9am-1pm or until tasks are completed. Tasks will vary by location, and you'll receive more information after registration.

Lunch provided with sign-up. If you would like a box lunch, register online by September 27.

About the Projects:

Valley of the Gods is a 17-mile dirt and gravel road with a few areas for camping, beautiful sunsets, and lush views.

Indian Creek Campgrounds

  • 3-5 volunteers needed

  • Campground locations: Superbowl and Creek Pasture

Bears Ears Education Center provides current information on the Bears Ears National Monument for locals and thousand of visitors each year. If you’re looking for an opportunity to chat with our Volunteers or our Bears Ears Staff to learn about our programs, come pick up a brush to help up-keep our building.

Cottonwood Wash: Recent monsoon storms in late June and early July caused flooding from Tank Mesa, resulting in damage to the trail. Once the weeds are cleared, we plan to improve the trail's drainage system to prevent future flooding and washouts. 

This critical task on the Speaking Springs Preserve in Cottonwood Wash will significantly reduce erosion and maintain the integrity of this route.

Blanding Shooting Range: special project, BLM Law enforcement lead. 

  • 10+ volunteers needed
  • Meeting location: Blanding Shooting Range at 9am
  • BEP will be providing safety vests to all volunteers.
  • Project tasks: Trash Removal, Some heavy equipment use

Butler Wash: Special Project, Visit With Respect Training required. 

  • 5-6 volunteers needed 
  • Volunteer tasks: Heavy lifting Hiking while carrying equipment
  • More information will be provided when you register and VWR training is confirmed
