Carolyn is a former classroom teacher who most recently lived and taught at the Grand Canyon. Her perpetual goals for both her students and herself involved honoring curiosity and cultivating wonder. She especially enjoyed education-adjacent opportunities such as organizing community weekend hikes or afterschool bike rides, hosting star parties for students with local NPS rangers, and participating in a girls-only trail stewardship program. Carolyn is returning from a self-described “grown-up gap year” where she delightfully pursued new experiences such as guiding on the Snake and Salmon rivers over the summer, the caretaking of horses during the fall, and working at ski resort for the winter. In spite of the beauty of those experiences, she feels most at home in the golden sun and varnished canyons of the Colorado plateau country and feels deliriously fortunate to now call Bluff home. She’s looking forward to sunset dog walks, languid river days, participating in community events, and monsoon season.
