Ana Siegel

Development Director

Ana first discovered her passion for Cedar Mesa in 2018 while she was conducting research on Bears Ears National Monument for her B.A. in Anthropology and Environmental Policy, which she earned from the University of Puget Sound. She has since been living in Durango, Colorado, where she has worked with a number of local environmental groups in regional grassroots organizing. Ana has also worked as a research assistant interviewing members of radiation-affected communities and as a member of a trail crew conducting boots-on-the-ground stewardship and data collection throughout the Weminuche Wilderness.

These experiences instilled in her the importance of community engagement in conservation efforts and a drive to contribute to those efforts in the landscapes she loves most. Ana is thrilled to be working with the team at Bears Ears Partnership to connect and collaborate with visitors and stakeholders to protect the incredibly special landscape of Southeastern Utah.

When not at work, Ana’s passion for the southwestern landscape is reflected in time spent riding her bike and exploring the region with her dog, Maeby.
