Communications Manager
Amelia Diehl was raised in Michigan, and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2021 for the University of Utah’s masters program in Environmental Humanities. While she has a lot to learn about this region, she brings a passion for place-based organizing. Before coming to Utah, Amelia’s foundation in environmental justice evolved from her involvement in Great Lakes struggles against resource extraction, global climate justice, and faith-based organizing with the Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth. Also trained as a journalist, Amelia is passionate about the vital role that storytelling plays in any social movement. She is grateful for this opportunity to learn from the unique co-management model of Bears Ears National Monument, and eager to collaborate with the remarkable community dedicated to protecting this important place. In her free time, Amelia likes playing music, reading, running, gardening, and cooking large meals for friends.
