Do Your Part

Are you looking for a way to get involved in protecting the public lands of southern Utah? Do you have a month (or more!) to volunteer? Do you love hiking and talking with visitors? Bears Ears Partership is seeking long-term volunteers who would like to help protect and steward Bears Ears National Monument and other public lands in San Juan County, UT. Volunteer work includes assisting visitors in our Education Center (approximately 60% of your time, more in the summer), hiking to popular local archaeological sites along Comb Ridge and in Cedar Mesa and educating visitors on how to Visit With Respect, and joining service projects and public land monitoring projects.

Get Outside

This volunteer work requires a moderate to more strenuous activity level and includes being outdoors in all seasons. We’re seeking people with good communication and interpersonal skills to provide information in a friendly, positive manner. You should be flexible, self-reliant, independent, and willing to pitch in on whatever task is needed as everyone in a small non-profit wears many hats.

It's Worth It

For your hard work, Bears Ears Partnership will provide you with a level RV site with full hookups, and wi-fi. You must provide your own RV or trailer as alternative housing is not available. You are welcome to bring your pet. If you choose to hike with your dog you must follow the BLM leash guidelines in the area. You need your own vehicle, preferably high clearance, to access your work site. Bears Ears Partnership provides orientation and training, work shirt and name tag, and reimbursment for work mileage at $0.14/mile. Health insurance and workers comp insurance are not available.

One month minimum, spring, summer and fall seasons. Individuals will work 32 hours/week (4 days).
